Petit Château: Not so much a definition but a concept. Typically used for wines that are affordable and produced by smaller, family-owned, less well-known estates. These are, by and large, multi-generational family-owned vineyards that work hard to make their wines in the shadows of the more famous Grand Cru Classés of Bordeaux.
